Our dedicated staff provides compassionate, supportive and professional care and services to 47 residents with varying interests. Our Behaviour Management Specialist offers leadership and support to staff and families concerning the individualized care of residents with Alzheimer's disease or dementia.

Our commitment to education provides our staff with the knowledge to ensure each resident receives care that respects their individuality and preference. It's part of our Pursuit of Excellence mission.

Our single-level, home is designed for residents' comfort and provides  easy access to all areas.  Bedrooms - private and shared -  are spacious and attractively decorated and feature en-suite bathrooms. Residents  can socialize and enjoy visits with family and friends in our comfortable,  cozy lounges or enjoy a breath of fresh air in our gardens. Our residents  enjoy active recreation programs including summer barbecues, musical entertainment, visits from local school children  and a ceramics program.

West Lake Terrace enjoys strong community support. Based on our belief that residents continue to be valued citizens, we encourage them to take part in the life of the surrounding community and invite people from this area to become involved in our home. Our outings include picnics and fishing, the local fair, Thousand Islands boat cruises and bus tours. Our dedicated volunteers add much to the good times we have at our summer barbecues, annual bazaars, shopping excursions, holiday dinners and celebrations. Children, local entertainers and clergy visit us regularly.

We are  committed to continually strive to exceed the expectations of individuals and communities we are privileged to serve. Our commitment to every resident and to those significant in their lives is to respect and value every individual and provide an environment which facilitates a purposeful and peaceful lifestyle and supports the quality of life residents are entitled to enjoy.

Our residents are valued members of West Lake Terrace's management team. Our Residents Council provides the opportunity for residents and their family members to participate in planning and evaluating the services in our home and supports a strong line of communication between residents and administration.

Clean and comfy...
My family and I wish to express our sincere gratitude to you, your staff and the residents of West Lake for making the last months of my mother's life so happy and comfortable.

In a letter to my sister, Mom was praising you all for - 'a very good home for me, clean and comfy. It's run as a hospital.' She often praised the staff as being 'loving and caring.' And I agree wholeheartedly with Mom's assessment of the staff and home.
