Welcome to
Village Green Village Green is a licensed
and accredited, long-term care residence in the quiet farming
hamlet of Selby. We are easily accessible just north Highway
401 and within five minutes of the Napanee Hospital.
Our dedicated staff provides compassionate,
supportive and professional care and services to 66 residents
with varying interests. Our Behaviour Management Specialist
offers leadership and support to staff and families concerning
the
individualized care of residents with Alzheimer’s disease
or dementia.
Our commitment to education provides our staff
with the knowledge to ensure each resident receives care that
respects their individuality and preference. It’s part
of our Pursuit of Excellence mission.
Our modern, single-level home is designed for
residents’ comfort. Bedrooms — private and shared
— are spacious, attractively decorated and feature ensuite
bathrooms. Corridors are wide and accommodating. Visitors
are welcome to join residents for a visit on our large deck
or in our comfortable lounge, or share a meal in our dining
room.
Village Green enjoys strong community support.
Based on our belief that residents continue to be valued citizens,
we encourage them to take part in the life of the surrounding
community and invite people from this area to become involved
in our home. Our outings include boat cruises to the Thousand
Islands, hockey games in Kingston, bus tours, visits to local
fairs, shopping excursions and swimming. Volunteers add much
to the good times we have at our summer barbecues, birthday
parties, annual bazaars, holiday dinners and celebrations.
Children, local entertainers and clergy visit us regularly.
We are committed to continually strive to exceed
the expectations of individuals and communities we are privileged
to serve. Our commitment to every resident and to those significant
in their lives is to respect and value every individual and
provide an environment which facilitates a purposeful and
peaceful lifestyle and supports the quality of life residents
are entitled to enjoy.
Our residents are valued members of Village
Green’s management team. Our Residents Council provides
the opportunity for residents and their family members to
participate in planning and evaluating the services in our
home and supports a strong line of communication between residents
and administration.
