| The rooms are painted in warm
colours and are finished with a chair, bedside table, bed,
and wardrobe.
Coloured bedspreads and curtains are chosen to contrast the
walls, however use of familiar bedspreads and curtains from
home are encouraged. There is ample room to add to these
furnishings with pieces from home, or they may be replaced
with pieces from home.
Windows provide terrific views of the area, while providing
natural lighting. Privacy and security are maintained through
the implementation of a call system, privacy curtains and
placement of furniture.
Rooms: The rooms have been designed with
a strong focus on maintaining individuality, independence,
privacy and security in a home environment. Identification
of resident’s rooms can be determined by a number of
way-finding elements that may include:
•Contrasting room numbers outside room door
•Name plates outside room door
•Placement of familiar objects from home within the
room, i.e. bedspread, chair, dresser.
Televisions: We have provided televisions
in lounge areas for residents use. Should a resident prefer
to have their own television in their room the resident or
family member assumes the installation and financial responsibilities.
Residents making use of radios and televisions will be expected
to respect the rights of the other residents. Earphones may
be requested.
Telephones: Should daily telephone calls
be part of the resident’s routine, we suggest the installation
of a private line. You may contact Bell Canada directly to
arrange for installation.
