Welcome to Pleasant Meadow Manor
Pleasant Meadow Manor is a licensed and accredited long term care residence in a country setting in the village of Norwood, just east of Peterborough. Emergency medical services are easily accessed in Peterborough and Campbellford.

Our dedicated staff provides compassionate, supportive and professional care and services to 60 residents with varying interests. Our Behaviour Management Specialist offers leadership and support to staff and families concerning the individualized care of residents with Alzheimer's disease or dementia.

Our commitment to education provides our staff with the knowledge to ensure each resident receives care that respects their individuality and preference. It's part of our Pursuit of Excellence mission.

Our modern, single-level home is designed for residents' comfort. Bedrooms - private and shared - are spacious, attractively decorated and feature en-suite bathrooms. Corridors are wide and accommodating. Residents can socialize and enjoy visits with family and friends in our comfortable sunrooms and fireplace lounge. Our patio, gazebo and beautiful gardens provide the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors in our peaceful country surroundings.

Pleasant Meadow Manor enjoys strong community support. Based on our belief that residents continue to be valued citizens, we encourage them to take part in the life of Norwood and invite area people to become involved in our home. Our full social calendar includes outings to the local sugar bush, the local fair and school musicals. We enter a float in the annual village parade. And residents can enjoy a variety of programs, including gardening, baking and computing. Our dedicated volunteers add much to the good times we have at summer barbecues, birthday parties, annual bazaars, holiday dinners and our annual variety show. Children, local entertainers and clergy visit us regularly.

We are committed to continually strive to exceed the expectations of individuals and communities we are privileged to serve. Our commitment to every resident and to those significant in their lives is to respect and value every individual and provide an environment which facilitates a purposeful and peaceful lifestyle and supports the quality of life residents are entitled to enjoy.

Our residents are valued members of Pleasant Meadow Manor's management team. Our Residents Council provides the opportunity for residents and their family members to participate in planning and evaluating the services in our home and supports a strong line of communication between residents and administration.

A caring staff
My husband has been in Pleasant Meadow Manor for two years. I have dealt with three other nursing homes in the past and have found this one to be the best.

The staff are caring and understanding for residents as well as families. I have always found my husband to be clean and well looked after.

There are plenty of activities within the home. The activity staff have introduced some new programming that is suited for my husband, who is passive.

The meals exceeded my expectations for a nursing home. They are delicious. The staff often ask if I'd like to join my husband for lunch. At Christmas time, the dietary staff put on a fantastic dinner for families and residents followed by a singsong. They offer this at no extra cost!

I am very pleased with all the aspects of care given directly and indirectly to my husband.

Sincerely,
Bette Belchos
