Resident’s Council is
a group of residents and/or their representatives who meet
on a regular basis to discuss pertinent issues related to
the home. Residents are encouraged to attend meetings and
discuss ideas and concerns.
They are also encouraged to represent their peers when voicing
opinions. Council executives are elected by residents.
The purpose of the Resident’s Council is to provide
a strong line of communication with the hope of achieving
many goals and providing suggestions on improving the quality
of care.
Family members are invited to attend the meeting with or
on behalf of the resident. Management Staff may only participate
in this process when invited by Resident Council Members.
Concerns and Suggestions Residents and/or families are encouraged to bring
concerns or suggestions to the Charge Nurse. Any department
manager in the home will also be pleased to meet with you
to discuss your suggestions or concerns in detail.
If you find it necessary, the Ministry of Health will assist
residents who feel their concerns have not been adequately
heard within the home. Our staff will be pleased to provide
you with the telephone number and contact name for the Ministry
of Health. You can also find this information posted in the
main foyer.
