luncheons in local venues. Our volunteers add much to
the good times we have at summer barbecues, annual bazaars,
holiday dinners and celebrations. Children, local entertainers
and clergy visit us regularly.

Haven's management team. Our Residents Council provides
the opportunity for residents and their family
members to participate in planning and evaluating the

Letters: Love that no one can pay for...
When one realizes they can no longer care for those
they love and that we must trust that care to someone
else, I believe most of us make that choice with great
trepidation. We watch the caregivers like hawks …my
mother and her friend have been with you for some time
now … without question you have more than met
our expectations.
Both my mom and her friend are
impeccably dressed, well co-ordinated and always clean.
Their respective rooms, beds and furnishings could
not be better even in our own home. We are always
kept well informed of their condition and of their
activity.
If I had to
categorize the atmosphere at Almonte Country
Haven, I would have to say that from the vantage
point of the families you seem like "one
big happy family." I don't say these things
lightly. I have walked in on staff and found
them sitting on the edge of the bed, as I would,
talking and joking with my mother and enjoying
her, even though she can be demanding.
You can't believe
what a sense of satisfaction that gives me.
I know that even when we are not present, my
mother and her friend receive that love…that
no one can pay for.
