Family members thank Frost Manor for care given to residents

I am a RN who has recently retired after 26 years in the Mental Health field. The staff at Frost Manor in Lindsay asked me if I would be interested in starting a Family Council Program in their facility. I jumped at the chance as I was wanting to do more volunteer work.

We just had our second meeting and the Family Council is going very well. Family Members are so appreciative and thankful for the care that is given to residents. Our only concern was how we could convey this to the staff and give them the feedback from families. It was decided that a letter and a card would be a start. We also decided to write to OMNIway as another way to acknowledge our gratitude.

The Family members had such wonderful things to say. These are only a few of the many positive things that were said.
• They give 120%
• They are kind and caring
• “I am grateful my Father is here”
• There is lots of good entertainment
• The meals are good
• Medical Staff are available
• They know the residents well and use this knowledge to gain trust
• They work hard and go up and above the call of duty to ensure quality of care
• They are compassionate and non judgemental
• The staff are just wonderful and we are so thankful

As Chair of this Council it makes me proud to be part of this process and proud that Frost Manor is such a caring and therapeutic environment with exceptional staff. The administrator has been 100% supportive towards the Council and attends when requested to give information and answer questions. A staff member who also has a family member at Frost manor attends and provides information and support (to the council).

My mother continues to thrive. She has been at Frost Manor for 9 years, is not on any medication except for the odd aspirin. She is aging and becoming more sensitive, uncomfortable and irritable, but the staff remain compassionate and sensitive to her needs. I feel so fortunate that she receiving the care she so deserves at this time in her life.

Our hope if that you will print this letter as a thank you and a tribute to all the staff that work so hard at Frost Manor.
