Promotion from within an integral part of OMNI

The long-term care sector is expecting some big challenges over the next 20 years.

As baby boomers approach their senior years, long-term care homes across the province — and across Canada, for that matter — will see an influx of individuals seeking residence. In fact, the number of seniors in Ontario is expected to double over the next 16 years.

Indeed, long-term care companies must stay ahead of the curve if they wish to accommodate the needs of the growing senior population. To ensure these needs are met, increased employee recruitment and retention must remain at the forefront of agendas.

A major benefit of being a part of the OMNI family is that the company encourages personal growth and development. To achieve this, OMNI offers staff members a wide variety of educational programs aimed at providing them opportunities to grow with the company.

One way to attract people to an organization is to provide meaningful employment opportunities, with the possibility for advancement.

In this respect, OMNI Health Care is doing what it can to attract good people to the long-term care sector as we move further into the 21st century.

Many progressive organizations are choosing to promote from within these days. With 48 per cent of managers having been promoted from within the organization, OMNI is in line with this trend.

Since the end of October, the OMNIway has profiled 10 other individuals who have climbed the ranks in a variety of areas at OMNI long-term care homes. Some have become administrators and clinical care co-ordinators, while others have become department heads.

The common denominator between these individuals is their desire to improve themselves and the quality of care delivered to residents.
