Editorial OMNI doesn’t let
up on continuous improvement Friday, August 18, 2006
Earlier this month OMNI administrators met for
their quarterly board meeting.
One of the decisions made was to initiate best
practices committees in the homes.
These committees will help integrate new programs
with each other and the day-to-day operations
of homes.
This step is a natural one and will aid in turning
new projects into operationalized programs.
West Lake Terrace will be piloting the expansion
of the scope of practice for PSWs, another decision
confirmed at the administrators’ board meeting.
The pandemic plan, being created by a group of
OMNI’s senior leadership is also well on
its way.
On page four of this edition a few of the many
stories about Supportive Measures successes appear.
The recent Supportive Measures train-the-trainer
sessions and the subsequent in-home rollouts have
moved OMNI further along the path to their goal
of training all employees in the approach by the
end of 2007.
Each of these projects and programs is supported
by team members in the homes and by a home office
structured to resource and coordinate start up
and implementation.
The amount of disciplined work being done throughout
the OMNI community is staggering and impressive.
There can be little doubt OMNI is continuing to
improve itself for the sake of providing the best
possible resident care.
