NCM
serves feast for dietary employees
Friday, December 16,
2005 -- Natalie Miller
From the chicken grown on her hobby farm to
the homemade cranberry relish, Frost Manor’s
dietary employees were treated to a feast
made from scratch recently.
The meal was prepared by an appreciative
Jean Chilton, Frost Manor’s nutritional
care manager, as a gesture of thanks to her
staff of eight.
“It’s something I’ve been
doing ever since I’ve been nutritional
care manager here to say thanks back to my
team,” says Jean.
“They do so many extras all of the
time.” Being a small department, they
sometimes get shuffled aside, says Jean, so
she decided to express her gratitude in a
big way.
The Dec. 8 meal included roast chicken with
cranberry relish, salads, dinner rolls and
Oreo cheesecake.
Santa Claus came with gifts for each member
of the team and prizes were handed out for
a Christmas Carol game. The nutritional care
team also took part in a $5 gift exchange.
“Everybody had a good time,” says
Jean.
Throughout the year each member of the team
had her name entered into a draw once a month.
At the end of each month, each member of the
team receives stars which say ‘thank
you’. Employees’ names are entered
into the draw which is made at the end of
the year to receive an OMNI T-shirt.
“A small thank you goes a long way
to make team work lighter,” says Jean.
