Five generations gather
at Kanata home

It’s nice to get a visit from your family. It’s nicer still to know it’s five generations deep, from great great grandmother to great great granddaughter and everyone in between.

That’s what 95-year-old Olive Poole, a resident at Garden Terrace, experienced last week when a whole lot of family descended on the Kanata home for an after-lunch visit.

"Five generations here…I thought this was pretty special," says Life Enrichment Co-ordinator Shannon Boisvenue.

Olive, as great great grandmother, enjoyed holding Chloe Smith, her great great granddaughter, according to Shannon. As well, great grandmother Pat Stoate, grandmother Deby Desjardins and mother Natalie Smith visited Olive, too.

Shannon says Olive has lived at Garden Terrace since March of last year, one of the first residents to live in OMNI’s newest and largest home.

"Olive was thrilled to hold her great great granddaughter," says Shannon. "She said she didn’t imagine that it happens very often."
