Letter:
Family comforted by caring
at Springdale
On behalf of the family of the late Stella
Sheehan, I would like to thank all of you for
the care you gave her while she lived at Springdale.
It was a great comfort to know that when she needed
a higher level of care than we were able to provide,
you were all there.
It takes a very special kind of person to work
in geriatric care. The compassion and commitment
of the caregivers is very much above and beyond
what can be considered just duty. It was obvious
to us that you consider the residents to be an
extended part of your own families, and we never
worried that Mom might be mistreated or neglected.
She was always clean and properly dressed, and
her room was always well kept. She was given the
choice to participate in activities for as long
as she was able.
Any requests and questions were met with respect
and good cheer, and we were never made to feel
like we were asking too much from you.
When the end was near, we got the calls everyone
dreads, and you were there, not only to help Mom
through, but her family, as well. We want you
to know how much we appreciate the care and concern
you showed to all of us, the offering of refreshments
while we sat with Mom, and everything you did
to ease her passing.
You don’t get told often enough how special
you all are, but you should. Thank you from all
of us.
Sincerely,
Julie Crai
